The theme of this Kokuka is Namichidori, Birds and Waves. It symbolizes overcoming obstacles together with family. A lucky theme. The craftsman, Hamano Shozui, was a topped rank famous craftsman among the Nara Tradition, such as Toshinaga, Joui, and Yasuchika. He was born in 1696 and became a disciple of Nara Toshinaga. This Kozuka was crafted giving a dynamic impression of the birds and waves. On the backside, it shows Nekokaki file and his Mei. This item has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu in 2021.
